Job Description
The PC Support Analyst will be responsible for the operational
management, trouble shooting and fault resolution of the PC
(desktop, laptop, CAD workstation) , VOIP phones, including various
specific systems or sub-system.
The scope of the Service Support Group includes:
• Providing support to IT computer based systems which have been put
into production use
• To resolve PC software faults in a timely manner.
• Log, track and close end user faults in the IT Service Management
system as and when required
• Management of server and backups will be done via 3rd line
support, but PC support Analyst will monitor the server via third
party tools.
• Managing of tapes for backup system.
• Building systems (imaging) and putting them into production in
accordance with Technical Work Practices and Change Control practices
• Liaise, as required, with third party suppliers of system hardware
and software with regard to problem resolution, planned preventative
maintenance, etc.
• Maintaining an awareness of department Procedures, Information
Security Policy, Responsibility Matrices, Work Instructions and
Checklists.
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years experience in PC desktop support based on
Microsoft Operating System and Microsoft Office applications
(knowledge of construction or engineering software would be an
advantage).
• Knowledge of networking topology, cabling infrastructure, comms
cabinets and file servers, VOIP and Citrix would be an advantage.
• Proven experience with imaging technologies such as RIS is
essential.
• Knowledge of Lotus Notes/Domino
• Accredited to Microsoft MCP or A+ essential.
• Any project deployment or roll-out experience would also be an
advantage
