“I was quite worried because people might think I’m begging for sympathy for the judges to let me in but not all the people in Britain would know how it is to live in the Philippines.

“It’s really hard even with the college degree, you cannot survive which is like one job, having to support your parents and your brothers is another story so I have to make a sacrifice.

“If I get a better career I know I will get a better life for them. Winning this competition would mean the whole world to me because that means I’m gonna be with my kids. Being with my kids is world to me.”

Ani Simon, “Madonna, I love you. I absolutely love your story but unfortunately, your voice and that performance, in my opinion is not good enough to win Britain’s Got Talent.

“It’s not Britain’s Saddest Story. It is Britain’s Got Talent and I would be patronizing you if I was to say that was an incredible vocal performance because it wasn’t!”

Madonna’s rendition of The Greatest Love of All was very good in my opinion. But she fell for that classic Filipino fault of having to explain a little bit more (called rambling) just to be sure her message gets across. I believe she wasn’t after voters’ sympathy, but bringing the subject up once more on stage turned off many viewers. Blame her handler or manager for not warning her.
